Summer Jazz Camp Scotland

Take your musical journey to the next level 8–12 August 2024

Welcome To Summer Jazz Camp Scotland

Our mission is to inspire and empower young musicians to develop their skills, confidence, and love for jazz music. With world-renowned jazz musicians as our tutors, we aim to create a fun and engaging learning environment that promotes ensemble playing, jazz theory, big band, repertoire, and confidence building.

Through our program, students will have the opportunity to learn from some of the country’s best musicians who will share their knowledge and experience to help them achieve their full potential. Our curriculum is designed to cover all aspects of jazz music, from the fundamentals of jazz theory to advanced techniques in big band and ensemble playing.

Our goal is to provide students with the tools they need to become confident and expressive musicians, who can improvise, collaborate, and perform with ease.

We believe that jazz music is a powerful tool for personal and artistic growth, and we strive to instill this passion in every student who comes through our doors.

Join us this summer and take your musical journey to the next level!

Location Wiston Lodge

At the heart of Wiston Lodge, located in South Lanarkshire, is the house itself – a beautiful old Victorian hunting lodge built in the 1850s. The house has 48 bed spaces in a mixture of family and dorm-style rooms, as well as four group spaces of varying sizes and facilities.

Directions & Accommodation Getting There

One visitor described Wiston Lodge as your “nearest faraway place”, and we are located equidistant between Edinburgh and Glasgow. With an approximate travel time of 1 hour from each city, we’re easy to get to… once you know how to find us!

The postcode is ML12 6HT but beware! Some Sat Navs bring you into the village but not directly to the Lodge with this postcode. Once in Wiston Village, find the Primary School. The Lodge is located at the top of the hill, right next to the school.

catering Soul Food

We think food is important to the success of your time here. Before your visit we ask you to tell us about guests dietary requirements. We work with visitors to ensure meals meet everyone’s satisfaction. Food is ethically sourced wherever possible. We regularly use local farmer’s markets and meals are prepared from scratch. We believe hearty, home cooked food is vital to getting the most out of your stay!

To keep guests fuelled for a day of musical activities we serve three meals per day, all balanced, nutritious and seasonal. Each meal will usually be a single dish, chosen to fit the majority of participants. We also understand that some people may need alternatives.
